win98 setup final boot hang
Every once in awhile the system will hang and totally lock while booting. I have to disconnect the PC from the power in order to re-boot. On re-boot, the BOIS shows a 333mhz processor and boots into safe BIOS mode. There is a message that that there was a CPU hang due to improper CPU speed setting.

I would estimate that between a fourth to a third of the posts are about the cold boot hang problem. The IBM techs have been telling us that they're working on the problem for well over a month now. The latest IBM tech post on this says to look in www3.IBM.com/support so I did. They have nothing there (ie /suppot)

works in this but the 8.2beta1 hangs on boot at the setting the users/group quota stuff. It wont finish the boot at that point. I have reinstalled but same problem Any thoughts? Do you actually want/need quotas? What filesystem, they said something about not all fs supporting quotas.
